A wine with a definite sense of place, the 2016 Eastside Chardonnay gives a strong impression of its stony terroir. Aromas of white peach, pear liqueur and a hint of smoke are impossible to resist. The incisive minerality carries the mouthfeel from beginning to end and is supplemented with dried apricot and musky lime. The greenish hue on the edge of the glass is indicative of the health of the wine. Balanced and well-proportioned, drink this wine over the next 10-15 years. The wine is slightly hazy showing Aubert’s commitment to minimal intervention winemaking.
